LEO'S IRONIC CODE
Leonardo da Vinci called himself a failure!
"You will never have a greater or lesser dominion than that over yourself... the height of a man's success is gauged by his self-mastery; the depth of his failure by his self-abandonment. ...and this law is the expression of eternal justice. He who cannot establish dominion over himself will have no dominion over others." Said by Leonardo da Vinci but ironically he considered himself as someone who had failed in life.
A universal genius was what not? A painter, an architect, sculptor, military engineer, famous artist and a curious man with an insatiable desire for knowledge who became an epitome of the Renaissance. He was an illegitimate child born in Florence, he received his early education in a painter's workshop. Andrea Del Verrocchio was one of the influential personalities in his life who introduced him to the art world. Being a curious soul, art couldn't was suffice to cover Leo's quest of his surroundings, he then went on studying the laws of science and nature.
It is unfortunate to believe that a great inquisitive soul like him also faced mental illness. He struggled with ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder) through out his life.
"It is incredible that Leonardo considered himself as someone who had failed in life", said Professor Marco Cantani, of King's College London.
Leo had difficulties with sticking to tasks from childhood. There are accounts from biographers and contemporaries that showed that he was always in the go, jumping from task to task. He slept very little and worked continuously night and day by alternating rapid cycles of short naps and time awake.
